Hey, folks! We haven’t posted on this Kickstarter since the Cheapass in Black and White book fulfillment was complete, but we wanted to take a moment to tell you what’s new with Cheapass Games and James Ernest!
Crab Fragment Labs
At the beginning of 2020, James Ernest started his newest creative endeavor, Crab Fragment Labs! This website is a proving ground for new game ideas, as well as a home for James’ blog, design articles, and instructional videos. With the light-hearted spirit of Cheapass Games in mind, James’ focus is on light, experimental games with print-at-home and print-on-demand versions, in addition to game design content and more!

New Edition of Cheapass Games Classics!
After acquiring the publishing rights to Cheapass Games, Greater Than Games has delved into the enormous catalog! And as an initial step to revitalizing some of the older titles, we released new editions of Kill Doctor Lucky and Tak: A Beautiful Game!
Tak: A Beautiful Game 2nd Editionreceived an all-new box and board art, as well as upgraded components! With the assistance and vision of Patrick Rothfuss, our amazing in-house illustrator Sarah Kelly was able to bring characters from the book to life through her art and easter eggs hidden on one of the boards!

Cheapass Games in Black and White has officially started shipping!

Hey folks! Maggie here with your final Cheapass Games in Black and White update! In this update, we will cover where we are at in the fulfillment process, what to do if you receive damaged products, and what to do if you receive VAT charges.
Fulfillment Process
Last month, we released the digital download of the PDF to backers through Backerkit. You will need to log in to your Backerkit account to access it. Please reach out to us by emailing [email protected] if you have any issues with your digital download.
We will be completing the shipping process today! The final Canadian shipments will be picked up this afternoon and all books should arrive to backers by the end of the month!
Damaged Products
If you received a damaged book or bookplate, please email [email protected]. Katie, our Customer Service Manager, will be able to assist you with getting a replacement item.
VAT Charges
Katie has received a few emails about backers being charged additional VAT. That is wrong and we will reimburse backers for their additional VAT charges if a receipt is provided. Please email [email protected] with your receipt.

Hey folks! Maggie here with a very brief update about address locking and the PDF's release.
Updating Addresses
You have approximately 35 hours to update your address before we hit the lock address button, so please do that. If you have any questions about the process, please email [email protected].
PDF's Release
We apologize for not being able to release the PDF on Friday, November 8th. We had some computer issues in our design department and will be releasing the PDF on November 13th.

Hey folks! Maggie here with a super exciting update, the books are almost ready to ship! Below I will post some images of the book, which is gorgeous, but first, let's talk about updating addresses, the shipping process, and the PDF!
Updating your address
Everyone should have received their Backerkit link by now and set up your shipping profile. If you have not received the link, please email us at [email protected] so we can get generate a new link for you.
If your address has changed since you set up your shipping profile, or if you are expecting your address to change before December 15, please log into Backerkit and select the edit address button, as seen below.
How to edit address
We also recommend setting up mail forwarding if you will be moving within the next month, just to be safe.
We will be locking addresses on November 12th, so please update or add your address to your Backerkit profile by 11:59 PM.
Shipping Process
Once we have locked addresses, we will begin to ship out the books and bookplates! We will be shipping these items separately to ensure bookplates are not damaged in the process. All items will ship out this month, books will be shipped first and then bookplates.

We will be releasing the PDF to backers on November 8 through Backerkit!

Hello folks! Maggie here with your October update! I apologize for the delay in posting this, we were waiting on some follow-up information from the printer. Let's dive into a production update!
Production
James Ernest was in town last week to work on several awesome upcoming projects, and he was also able to pick up the book proof at that time for review! He and Carol came back with a handful of edits that we have now sent over to the manufacturer. We are expecting to receive digital proofs next week and we will be going into production within the next two weeks!
Once production has started it will take 4-5 weeks to complete the whole process and an additional week to ship to our warehouse in St. Louis. We currently estimate that we will begin fulfillment in November. This is slightly behind the campaign estimated ship time of October and we apologize for the delay, but we promise that your book will be in your hands as soon as possible!
